In the 2021 model year, the Genesis G80 brings some refreshments and notable changes to consumers. This year, the Genesis G80 gets a restyled exterior that gives it a more streamlined and polished appearance. The G80 receives some interior modifications, including more technology features that are also unique for the G80's class. Performance and handling are revisited for the 2021 Genesis G80 as well, with a new engine lineup offering more power than before. The Genesis G70 does not get many changes for 2021. This year, the G70 still has its signature sporty character, exceptional value, and upscale design touches throughout its cabin.


There are two engines available for the G80 in 2021, including a new base engine that replaces the previously-standard V6 engine. Now, the G80 comes with a minimum power of 300 HP and 311 LB-FT of torque, which is delivered by a new turbocharged 2.5L engine with four cylinders. This engine runs on regular gasoline. Next in line is another turbo engine, which is a 3.5L engine with six cylinders. This engine gets a boost of power with a peak output of 375 HP and nearly 400 LB-FT of maximum torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but you can choose all-wheel drive instead. The G70 comes with a choice of two engines as well. The base engine produces 252 HP and 260 LB-FT of torque. The second engine is a 3.3L V6 with a maximum power output reaching 365 HP and 375 LB-FT in torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.


Both Genesis models have a sporty and elegant appearance. The latest Genesis G80 has a large front grille for the 2021 model year. It also has a quad headlight design with LED lighting as a standard feature. The exterior has an upscale look with chrome touches all around. The G70 has LED lights as a standard exterior feature. You can also upgrade to summer tires through a package, while 19-inch wheels in assorted styles are available for the higher-end trims. A sporty exhaust system is also available on some trims.


The G80 and G70 both provide plenty of standard features and overall exceptional value. At a minimum, the G80 comes with a large base infotainment display screen with a 14.5-inch screen size. Leather, wood, and aluminum accents give the interior an upscale appearance. The G70 gets a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and a head-up display for the infotainment system. Many safety features are standard on both.
